Coffee & Camera - Creative Vision

You understand the fundamentals of aperture, shutter speed and ISO and you feel reasonably comfortable using your DSLR camera. Now it's time to take it to the next level and explore your creative vision.Join me for a unique five-session workshop that does just that.

When you get ready to press the shutter release there are endless possibilities and all of them will influence how others experience your photography. In this workshop we will discuss concepts such as: scale, elemental relationships, negative space, color vs monochrome, focus vs blur, quality and direction of light, and perspective. We will also take time during each session to review/discuss the work of prominent photographers.

Don't worry, we'll also do a quick refresher in the first class to make sure everyone is on the same page regarding the fundamentals.

As usual, this workshop is a chance to share time with a small group (six total participants) while learning how to use your camera the way you've always wanted. We will cover technical and artistic topics in a practical way, and there will be plenty of opportunities to practice what you learn and get feedback in a comfortable and non-judgmental environment.

The final session will be a "portfolio review" during which each participant will get a chance to present their photo story using the creative concepts we discuss. The cost of the course is $100 per student. Online payment is required at time of registration. Click the button below to sign up.

Oh, and feel free to bring your favorite cup of coffee with you. Unlimited ice-cold water provided.

Coffee & Camera - Photography Fundamentals

Do you have a camera that you want to learn how to use better? Do you want to understand key aspects of your camera so that you can more easily capture beautiful images of your family and your world?

Join me for a unique six-session workshop that covers topics like composition, the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) and enhancing your photographs after the shot. The final session will be a "student portfolio review" during which we will discuss the photos taken by each participant.

Think of this class as a chance to share time with a small group (six total participants) while learning how to use your camera the way you've always wanted. Most who attend the class will have a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera--the kind with interchangeable lenses--but all are welcome.

We will cover technical and artistic topics in a practical way, and there will be plenty of opportunities to practice what you learn and get feedback in a comfortable and non-critical environment.

Our next session is perfectly timed for people acquired new cameras during the holiday season. If you're giving a camera as a gift, consider giving education to go along with it.

The cost of the course is $100 per student. Online payment is required at time of registration. Click the button below to sign up.
