2017.06.10 Boys Lacrosse: E.C. Glass @ Riverside, 4A State Final

Salem, VA (June 10, 2017) – For the first time in a while, the Riverside Rams boys lacrosse team was wearing the darker color signifying that they were not the higher seed. And they were going up against the EC Glass Hilltoppers, a team that had just thoroughly trounced the Dominion Titans, the Rams' close rival.

Glass looked sharp right away and scored first after a lengthy possession, but the Rams came back with four unanswered to take a commanding lead. Both teams would add two more before halftime as Riverside maintained that three-goal margin at 6-3.

But the Hilltoppers were not finished as they scored twice early in the second frame to narrow the margin to just a single goal.

With confidence bourne of an undefeated season, Riverside scored the next two goals to extend the lead back to three and deflate Glass' new-found momentum. They would score once more, but it was not enough.
