Leesburg, VA (October 20, 2017) – Entering Loudoun County's homecoming stadium, the Dominion Titans were more than a slight underdog. Yes, their 4-3 record was just a tick off the Raiders' 5-2 standing, but a four-game winning streak and a roaring crowd gave a clear advantage to the the home team.
And Loudoun County gladly accepted that advantage. With their first possession, they marched straight down the field with swift efficiency to score and take a 7-0 lead.
And that was the last time they would be ahead.

When Dominion got the ball back they, too, showed that they could conduct a solid drive. And again. And again. And a field goal just before halftime extended their lead to 23-7. Only a missed extra point marred about fifteen minutes of offensive perfection.
As they had in the opening quarter, the Raiders took their first second half possession and put themselves right back into the game trailing only by nine points, 23-14. But the Titans struck again quickly, and that seemed to be the final blow to Loudoun County's confidence.
To their credit, the Raiders never gave up, but their only other real chance to score ended with a fumble at the goal line. Dominion didn't score again either, but their time-consuming, ball-possession drives ate up the rest of the clock and earned the Titans their fifth victory.
Final score: Dominion 30 - Loudoun County 14
