Ashburn, VA (September 26, 2017) – As the season pushes past the midpoint, Loudoun County high schools are finding out where they stand. Some, like the Tuscarora Huskies are struggling regularly against competition while others, like the Stone Bridge Bulldogs have not achieved elite status, but are trending well.
At 2-5, the Huskies needed a win to ensure that a break even season is still likely. At 4-5, the Bulldogs knew that a win would get them to .500 and 3-1 in their last four games.

The first half of this match was tightly contested. Both teams had decent chances while Stone Bridge had the edge in time of possession and time in their attacking end. But the half ended with neither team able to score.
The second half started out the same way, but Stone Bridge finally broke through as Emily Hinkle scored to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. The margin stayed the same until late in the second half when Ashlyn Hughes and Taylor Knowles scored in quick succession.
Tuscarora never gave up, but their fate was sealed once that second goal crossed the end line.
Final score: Stone Bridge 3 - Tuscarora 0.
