Ashburn, VA (August 31, 2016) – Perhaps it's because field hockey is not fully funded this year, but the multitude of double-headers is a great way to introduce this new sport to the Loudoun County community. Watching four teams in action on any given night allows spectators (and photographers) to gain insight into the game and understand its unique nuances.
Game 2: Potomac Falls 4 - Loudoun County 1
In the nightcap, the two teams entered with opposite records. Potomac Falls was 3-1 while Loudoun County was 1-2. However, the match was closer than the final score would indicate. Potomac Falls took a 2-0 lead into halftime, but that included a goal scored in the final seconds before the break.
The Panthers scored early in the second half to take a commanding three-goal lead, but the Raiders responded with a goal of their own to cut the margin to two again. But Potomac Falls came right back with another goal ending any chance Loudoun County had of coming all the way back.
