08.22.18 Field Hockey: Park View @ Rock Ridge

Aldie, VA (August 22, 2018) – In the second game of a double-header at John Champe High School, the Rock Ridge Phoenix hosted the Park View Patriots. It would be a good chance for both teams to see where they stand on the night before the new school year begins.

Chas Sumser Photography was there to capture the action and emotion and posted a gallery of images from the game.

With a dominating and methodical performance from start to finish, the Phoenix simply walked away with the victory. The ball virtually never crossed the midfield stripe into the Rock Ridge end, and when it did the Patriots never even got close to the Phoenix goal.

Under new head coach Jenny Everett, the Phoenix seemed very well organized with players always in the right place at the right time and efficient passing up and down the field. Although it took 52 minutes to make it happen, the 6-0 margin was enough to end the game early and provide a huge lift for the team and the school.

As always, the Patriots played with energy and enthusiasm. It's a tribute to their school pride to hear the bench cheering every time their attackers managed to get the ball in the Phoenix end--even if they were never a threat to score.

Final score: Rock Ridge 6 - Park View 0
